Cleveland State University’s basketball team, known as the Vikings, is a competitive program representing Cleveland State University in NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, the Vikings compete in the Horizon League and are recognized for their strong defense, disciplined play, and passionate fan support. The men's team has a rich history of success, including multiple conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by their memorable run to the Sweet 16 in 1986. The women's team continues to develop and compete at a high level, emphasizing skill, teamwork, and athleticism. Cleveland State basketball fosters a vibrant community spirit and is dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
